Hippie's World

LAST LAB SESSION

1. What is your opinion about using blogs to teach "writing" in EFL classrooms?

I think it’s very important to apply this in an EFL classroom, because children and teenagers will develop certain skills as technological and writing ones (expressing feelings, thoughts, etc). In my opinion, kids will be motivated to work in this section because is different and will entertain them.

2. Do you like working using blogs?

Honestly, I loved to. I always wanted to have one, but I didn’t know how and in this class I learned . So I pretend to keep the blog. One of the things I like to do the most is writing. I have so many poems written and I want to save them so maybe I’ll published the poems here.

3. What are some of the advantages of using blogs ?

I think that the advantages are:

· You learn about Technology.
· It is fun.
· It is accesible.
· You can be really creative.

4. What are some of the disadvantages?

I don’t think it has a lot of disvantages but it can be:

· When the net does not work.

5.Do you plan to use blogs in the future?

Yes, I have planned that, the truth is I would like to focus in Writing and Literature. So Ithink that a blog will help me to organize my classes and it will be fun for the students

6. Do you have any suggestions to improve these "lab sessions"? or was everything all right?

I think it was all good. Perhaps I would give more time to finish the works.

Why is Writing important for an EFL teacher?

I think it is important, because is a good way to express the ideas you want to present in a class. This can help us with
the grammatical correctness of the utterances. It also can help us with the way in which we speak.

What is the best way to teach writing to children? To teenagers? (Provide examples and references)

We need to motivate Children and Teenagers to use their imagination with writing. We need that they can develop a new world using their own words, so I think that a best way to teach writing could be trough telling them to write whatever they want, to put down in paper thoughts, feelings, etc. Maybe they can be motivated by that.

I think that the bests ways are:

  • through blogs.
  • writing essays.
  • writing letters.
  • etc.

The Princess and the Outlaw

The princess had never been so afraid. She was lost in Sherwood Forest.
Huge trees towered over her, throwing shadows that were getting blacker as the sunlight faded. Somewhere above her an owl gave a deep, trembling hoot. Or was it an owl? She had heard about how the outlaws sometimes talked by bird sounds. She stopped, leaned in close to a tree, and listened.

Instead of an owl, there was a strange creaking above her,
as if a branch was beginning to break.
She looked up.A man, dressed in green,
leaped out on the limb above her.
"Fear not, dear maiden!" the man cried.
Then, SNAP! CRACK! The man and the branch
came tumbling down. The princess ducked.

"Are you, perhaps..."

the princess asked after he had risen, "...Robin Hood?"

"Ah, not really," the man replied,

dusting off his striped, floopy hat. "I'm his cousin Ralph."

"Ralph Hood?"

"Well, actually, Ralph Stupid Hat."

He showed her the hat.

"Yes, very nice," she said.

"Tell me, where's your cousin? I need his help."

Ralph began to answer, but a shout interrupted him.
More shouts followed.
Someone was crashing through the forest towards them
"Oh no!" the princess gasped. "They've found me!
You must help me, Ralph!"

I just told my father that we should give
more money to the workers in the palace,
they seem so need it, and the king just exploded.
I have never seen my father like that before, his eyes went big
and his face red.

He told - "how can I think about that,
what it would be left for your kids,
you want nothing for them"
he shout.

So as rebellion I decided to sneak out of palace last night.
I just wanted the king to realize
what is going on with the people of the country he rules,
that is why I need your cousin help
he may persuade the King.
-"do you think you could help me to find him"
the princess said.

Ralph acceded as matter of fact,
Robin hood was near,
so they run and tell the whole story to him.
Robin came up with an idea,
he wanted to trick the king so they did.
In the woods they simulate that were a stolen band,
so when the king and his people got there
were very scared,
Robin, Ralph and Andrea (the princess)
showed themselves.

Robin Hood convinced the King telling
the good stuffs he could get for his country
if he could be more giving to them.
If that happens in a few days you'll notice
enormous changes and then you
can have your daughter back - Robin said

So as a worried father the king decided to do it
and saw huge advances of his country and he liked it ,
then Robin Hood return princess
Andrea to the kingdom and all live

Newspaper Article

I found it interesitng because the article talks about, of one of my favourite music style Hip-Hop. I think this kind of music can make you happy easily, and also entertain yourself when you are bored.

A Hip-Hop Performance Only a Band Can Deliver

The article talks about "Hip-Hop" Music. Especially about an on stage presetation of a group called the "Roots"(the long-running Philadelphia hip-hop band). It says that they can play a variaty of styles as "Hip- Hop", "Swing" and "Reggae". In they presetation they demostrated all the skills they have playing alive. In their Lyrics they confront, broad political questions from global warming, to financial crisis. Travis McCoy is the lead vocalist, he raps and sings all the time. The Band was inspired by the Beatles.
Nowaydays a new music style has been created the "pop- punk". Some of the bands following this style are "Fall out the boys" and "Brigth Eyes".

Plagiarism

I truly think that plagiarism is a wrong thing to do. We should not copy someone's else idea. Because is really hard to came up with something. It doesn't matter if is a book an essay or something else. Copying someone's else work is always wrong. We need to be creative, capable of surprise our selves with what we can create. I think that our Miss has published this topic, because some of the works may have ideas that do not belong to them. So to avoid this we must give credit to the people whom created and idea or phrase that you liked to put in your work.
